The inside width of the chair is 61cm, but using a 5cm high Polyurethane foam seat and 7cm
free space to the armrests allows the body mass to fall down, instead of fading out to the sides.
The impossible “wide inside but small outside” is obtained.
That makes the XXL-Rehab Shower Commode able to pass through most modern doorways.
Footrests are designed to carry 100kg each.
The footrest is also side⁄width adjustable, so access to intimate hygiene is possible and
people with large upper legs can sit with legs apart (up to 110cm) and still have foot support
The footrest is even nicely covered with polyurethane foam.
One of the unique new features is a split toilet seat. a long open hole: 44cm and 22cm at the widest point.
This is to enable a correct use of the chair, it eases access for caregivers and
avoids incidents where material ends up in places it wasn’t meant to end up.
Armrests are made with a length of 64cm so it will stick out 7cm from the front of the seat base —
enabling user to get into the commode by themselves
Space between backrest and seat is 32cm —
giving space for the bulbous gluteal region and easier access when fitting a sling.
