Oxford Slings — General Information

A sling comprises a specially designed and constructed piece of fabric that is placed under and around a patient before being attached to the spreader bar/cradle of a lift to raise, transfer and lower the patient.

Ensuring the utmost safety and comfort for individuals in diverse care settings. For their dignity at every step, our slings are designed to seamlessly integrate with our range of patient lifters.

A choice of styles are available to ensure safety, comfort and dignity for the patient, whatever the setting or task.

When selected and used correctly, a sling and lift combination will achieve a safe, comfortable transfer and reduce the risks associated with manual handling.

Weight Rating: Oxford Sling range has a maximum weight rating range of 200kg to 284kg depending on the sling.

Access ⁄ Toileting Sling – padded

Oxford Access Sling Use

This sling has been designed specifically to facilitate the toileting process by allowing excellent access to clothing. It is an easy to fit sling, fully padded for additional comfort. It is not a general purpose sling and will only suit around 25% of clients. Patients must be in a sitting position to use this sling.
It incorporates a two loop (black ⁄ blue) sling strap configuration.

Quickfit Deluxe Sling

Quickfit Deluxe Sling

This sling is a development of the standard Quickfit design and is suitable for the vast majority of patients. Contoured leg sections provide increased hip and thigh support and it can be used for amputees following careful assessment.

Comfort Sling

  • This sling is an easy fit, contoured sling designed to accommodate the majority of clients.
  • For use in conjunction with a 4-point positioning cradle (Pivot Frame)
  • It uses the Securi3 sling connection system ensuring no inadvertent detachment of the sling from the cradle.
  • It fits snuggly to give full protection for patients who go into extension or who have involuntary movements or behavioural problems.

  • This is a more specialised sling designed specifically to facilitate the toileting process.
  • It allows correct positioning to be made via a 4 point cradle (Pivot Frame)
  • It uses the Securi3 sling connection system ensuring no inadvertent detachment of the sling from the cradle.
  • It incorporates a comfort pad for head support.
  • An assessment must be carried out when using the Access Sling as it could prove to be unsafe when used on the wrong patient.

  • The Standing Sling is suitable for those patients who have a greater degree of weight bearing ability.
  • It allows excellent access for toileting.
  • It is easy to fit providing quick and effective transfers.
  • Adjustable waist strap.
  • The non-slip back pad ensures the sling does not ride up during transfer.
  • The sling can be dangerous, however, when used with the wrong patient, so a careful assessment is advised.
  • These slings are suitable for standing hoists only.
